The Final Check After a Vacant Property Cleanout

Published by TidyTruck Foreclosure Cleanout · October 6, 2026

A final check should follow the same route used during the initial walkthrough. Bring the approved keep list and verify each area before access is closed.

Check every contained space

Open closets, cabinets, utility rooms, attic access areas that were in scope, garage bays, sheds, and exterior pickup zones. Look behind doors and around water heaters or air handlers without disturbing equipment.

Compare against the scope

Confirm that approved fixtures and saved items remain. Record anything that could not be removed, including inaccessible rooms or material that needs a specialist. Do not treat a swept floor as proof that every scope item was handled.

Capture completion photos

Use the same doorway angles as the original set. Include room corners, floors, and remaining approved items. A consistent sequence makes the before-and-after record easier to review.

Secure the property

If the property still has contents across several areas, start with the vacant-property cleanout overview and prepare a room-by-room photo set.
